Today's Recap: Dollar Down vs Euro, Pound, Yen as Markets Price in More Rate Cuts by Fed
The Dollar was pressured on Tuesday as speculation of a 50 basis point move next month by the Fed was priced into the markets. The greenback declined in value vs the Euro, Pound, and the commodity bloc of currencies to start the week. A rally in carry trade pairs on Monday stalled in today's session.

Dollar woes ripple through Wall St.
Feb. 27 - The U.S. dollar hit $1.51 to the euro for the first time on record, and fell to historic lows against a basket of currencies, as weak data suggest more interest rate cuts. Dollar weakness temporarily pushed crude oil above $102 for the first time on record, but sent shares of major U.S. exporting companies higher.

Iceland's financial crisis spreads - 7 OCT 2008
Just 24 hours after Iceland's prime minister introduced emergency legislation giving his government sweeping new powers over the financial sector, the country has nationalised its second largest bank.
The bailout of Landsbanki comes after trading in shares of major banks was suspended on Monday - and the exchange rate of the Icelandic Krona was fixed - after it lost a quarter of its value against the euro. Sylvia Lennan reports.

FOREX New York Session Video January 24, 2008
Tuesday featured a surprise intrameeting 75 basis point rate cut by the Federal Reserve. Yesterday saw hawkish commentary delivered by the leader of the European Central Bank. Today's result: Up, up, and up for the EUR/USD. The entry zone for a long trade on the euro during today's New York session was defined by the convergence of a Fibonacci retracement level and the 21 ema. The market's subsequent move to two pivot point profit targets -- first M4, then R2 -- was classic.

Bank of Japan Cuts Rates to 0.1% While US Gov't Bails out Auto Sector

Comments from US Officials Boost Dollar, Falling Oil Help Too

Comments from Philadelphia Fed Governor Plosser were hawkish calling for an interest rate increase "sooner rather than later" as he is concerned about high inflation. Oil fell and Treasury Sec. Paulson said a deal to help Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should pass through congress this week. The Dollar rallied in NY trading.

Dollar and Yen Rally as Markets Retrace Gains from Middle of the Week
